Al Gore, surfing the buzz for An Inconvenient Truth -- which may be enough to score an Oscar, if not actually, um, save the planet -- has announced a mega-concert against global warming to be held on all seven continents over a 24-hour period on July 7.
The concerts will take place in Sydney, Australia; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Shanghai, China; London, England; Kyoto, Japan; Johannesburg, South Africa; and a U.S. city that has yet to be determined, Wall said. Gore added that the campaign even plans to stage the first-ever rock concert on Antarctica.
Dude. If it wasn't for global warming, you couldn't even have a concert in Antarctica. It would be too cold.
Some of the songs you can expect to hear:
Hot Stuff (Donna Summer)
Hot in Herre (Nelly)
Hot Hot Hot (Buster Poindexter)
I'm on Fire (Bruce Springsteen)
Drop it Like it's Hot (Snoop Dogg)
Great Balls of Fire (Jerry Lee Lewis)
Play With Fire (Rolling Stones)
Soak Up The Sun (Sheryl Crow)
Performances are expected from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Arcade Fire, the Arctic Monkeys, and Earth, Wind and Fire. -Peter Feld
