McCain's just not "likable," Schumer says
Chuck Schumer, head of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, was holding forth with reporters just now when he began to assess John McCain's debate performance last night -- which quickly morphed into a critique of his temperament.
"I realize he's been through a lot," said Schumer, who seemed to be referring to McCain's years in North Vietnamese prisons. "But he's not the most likable fellow."

Could someone tell me what is going on with McCain's attitude as of late. I used to think that this one was alright, an exception to the rule of the Republicans. His actions in recent weeks have been nothing short of deplorable. Perhaps, hopefully, he and his staff feel victory is becoming more and more out of reach and have decided to give up. I know I would. His latest ad makes no sense whatsoever. The older he gets the more loony he seems and he wasn't very much in touch to begin with. I don't care that he was in a POW camp. He enlisted himself in the military thus accepting all responsibility for anything that may or may not have happened to him and he has let this fact take him alot farther politically than he should have been allowed. Furthermore, his time imprisoned should by no means be used as a platform to run for public office. I don't feel sorry for him and quite honestly I wish he would just quit before he wins and ruins this country.
